UNLV economics professor, Daraboth Rith, survives campus shooting on Dec. 6, 2021, crediting officers Noriega and Vesperas for his life.

Daraboth "Bot" Rith, a UNLV economics professor, has been identified as a survivor of the December 6, 2021, campus shooting, where he was shot ten times. He credits officers Jake Noriega and Ty Vesperas for saving his life. After nearly three months in the hospital, Rith has returned to teaching. The tragic event resulted in the deaths of three other professors, and the shooter was killed by police shortly after the attack.
