On September 10, the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to a hazmat spill after a semi-truck carrying Ammonium Bisulfite overturned on 32nd Avenue South. Fire crews contained the spill to prevent it from entering the storm sewer system, with assistance from the Public Works Department and a contractor for cleanup. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to the public or emergency personnel involved in the incident.
