The suspect, initially believed to be armed, prompted a shelter-in-place order at nearby schools. After fleeing from officers, he was apprehended near a restaurant. Though he did not have the gun at the time of his arrest, a K-9 unit located it nearby. Charges are pending as the case is reviewed.
