2024 MN, ND and MI governors lower flags to half-staff, honor 9/11 victims and first responders.
On September 11, 2024, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum will lower flags to half-staff in remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Walz highlighted American resilience, while Burgum honored first responders and sacrifices made. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also ordered flags to be lowered and encouraged a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., urging community service to reflect on the day’s significance.
