High Court overturns lower court ruling on key informant documents in Crupi murder trial.
The High Court of Australia has advanced the murder trial of Vincenzo Crupi, charged with the 2016 killing of gangland lawyer Joseph Acquaro. Crupi, on bail since March 2021, faced trial delays partly due to a ruling that allowed police to withhold documents that could identify a key informant, Informer Z. The High Court found that the lower court failed to balance public interest and informant safety, sending the case back for further review.
