The Southern Cardamom REDD+ carbon credit project in Cambodia has been reinstated after a year-long review by Verra, following allegations of human rights abuses including forced evictions. Verra found that the Wildlife Alliance, which manages the project, has made necessary improvements to its policies and practices. Despite the reinstatement, local communities remain concerned about restricted access to forests and ongoing detentions for farming activities.
