Apple explores cheaper OLED tech for Vision Pro 2, aiming for 50% price cut from $3,500.
Apple is exploring a more affordable version of its Vision Pro headset, potentially named Vision Pro 2, by using less expensive OLED technology. The company has received a glass-based OLED panel from Japan Display Inc. (JDI) with a pixel density of around 1,500 pixels per inch, compared to the current model's 3,391 ppi. This shift aims to reduce manufacturing costs, possibly leading to a price cut of 50% from the original $3,500 headset, in response to slower sales.
