UK forms Labour Market Advisory Board to boost employment, address rising inactivity.

The UK government has formed a Labour Market Advisory Board to address rising economic inactivity, which has increased to 2.8 million since 2020, largely due to long-term sickness. Led by Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall, the board aims to achieve an 80% employment rate and enhance economic output. The UK is currently the only G7 country not to have returned to pre-pandemic employment levels, with a White Paper expected this autumn.
