On September 10, 2024, a woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted by a fellow passenger on a bus in Kolkata's Kasba area around 9:30 AM. Her screams alerted other passengers, who intervened and apprehended the suspect, preventing his escape. He was taken to the Kasba Police Station following the woman's complaint, which led to his arrest. The victim was en route to her workplace in Phoolbagan at the time of the incident.
