Nigerian TUC calls for a ₦1,000/$ special exchange rate for NNPC to reduce petrol prices.

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Nigeria urges the government to grant a special foreign exchange rate of ₦1,000/$ to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) to mitigate rising fuel prices. Currently, petrol exceeds ₦900 per liter, with TUC suggesting the rate could reduce prices to approximately ₦600. TUC President Festus Osifo attributes high costs to the naira's devaluation and warns of significant economic repercussions if action isn't taken.
