The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) is gathering public input on plans to implement tolls for two new state highways in the Lower North Island: Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū Tararua Highway and Ōtaki to north of Levin. The tolls aim to enhance safety and efficiency for travelers. Proposed toll rates are $4.30 for light vehicles and $8.60 for heavy vehicles. Public consultation is ongoing, with alternative free routes available for each highway.
