FAA Administrator requires Boeing to prove 737 MAX safety processes before lifting production cap.

FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker stated that Boeing must prove its safety processes are robust before the production cap on the 737 MAX can be lifted. This cap, currently at 38 planes per month, was imposed due to prior safety concerns. Whitaker emphasized Boeing's commitment to its quality turnaround plan during discussions with the new CEO, Kelly Ortberg. Regular meetings will begin in September to monitor progress. Boeing also faces penalties for a past fraud charge.
