Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago adds large-scale artwork by Julie Mehretu, honoring Civil Rights movement and reflecting Obama's legacy.

The Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago is set to open in two years. Recently, artist Julie Mehretu installed an 83-foot painted glass artwork, "Uprising of the Sun," inspired by Obama's remarks on the Selma marches. This installation, comprising 35 panels, honors the Civil Rights movement and reflects Obama's legacy. The center aims to revitalize the Woodlawn area and includes a public plaza named after civil rights leader John Lewis.
