Matthew John Flaskrud, a 47-year-old fugitive from Texas, was arrested in Colleton County, South Carolina, on September 6, 2024, after fleeing his manslaughter trial for a fatal motorcycle crash that killed 36-year-old Derrick Hintzman. He had removed his ankle monitor and provided a false name upon arrest. Flaskrud is also a registered sex offender with an outstanding warrant. He is currently held at the Colleton County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Texas.
