Wu Tao, a 41-year-old Chinese national and Singapore permanent resident, has been charged with the murder of 48-year-old Tan Kamonwan at Maxwell Food Centre on September 6. The stabbing, which occurred between 10:25 PM and 10:53 PM, appears to stem from a dispute over money. Wu, who was arrested shortly after the incident, faces the death penalty if convicted. He is currently undergoing a medical examination and is set to appear in court on September 27.
