A tribute event at the Vietnam Moving Wall honored local heroes from Columbiana and Mahoning Counties. Master of Ceremonies Don Humphrey led the ceremony, which posthumously awarded Medals of Honor to Ralph E. Dias and Melvin Newlin. Names of fallen locals were read, with a bell rung and roses placed for each. The event acknowledged Missing In Action soldiers and concluded with a gun volley and Taps. The wall displayed names of 40 local veterans among over 58,000.
