Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi has achieved a significant milestone by conducting its first pediatric bone marrow transplant on a nine-year-old boy with high-risk relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma. Led by Dr. Prashant Prabhakar, the procedure was performed free of charge, in contrast to the estimated cost of Rs 10-12 lakh at private facilities. The child was discharged on September 7 and will be monitored for two months, marking the hospital’s commitment to accessible pediatric care.
