2024 Kansas flags lowered to half-staff, 9/11 anniversary marked with state mourning.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff on September 11, 2024, from sunrise to sunset, in remembrance of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This marks the 23rd anniversary of the tragedy, which claimed over 400 lives in Kansas. The governor expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by first responders and others affected by the attacks.
