Two fatal crashes occurred on September 7 in Rockbridge County, Virginia. In the first incident, a collision between a Chrysler Pacifica and a Subaru Crosstrek resulted in the deaths of 92-year-old Donna Reinikka at the scene and 91-year-old Everett Arnold Reinikka later at a hospital. In a separate crash, 40-year-old Daniel Lee Sanderson lost control of his Jeep Cherokee and died at the scene; he was not wearing a seatbelt. Investigations are ongoing.
