16-member Indigenous girls' choir Marliya performs "Spinifex Gum" at London's Barbican Centre on Oct. 6, addressing Indigenous issues in their first international appearance.

The Marliya choir, consisting of 16 Indigenous girls from far north Queensland, will perform "Spinifex Gum" at London's Barbican Centre on October 6. This project, composed by Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill of The Cat Empire with Yindjibarndi Traditional Owners, addresses issues like incarceration and land rights affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The choir's performance is their first international appearance, alongside other youth choirs and orchestras.
