The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will test water at 45 homes in Brunswick due to a spill of 1,450 gallons of PFAS-containing firefighting foam at Brunswick Executive Airport. While public drinking water remains safe, residents are advised to avoid nearby water activities. PFAS levels in Harpswell Cove are decreasing, but rising in areas where cleanup is ongoing. Contaminated water will be incinerated in Texas.
