Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) invested ₹10,980 crore in Indian equities in the first week of September, boosting market performance. However, on the final day of a SEBI deadline for unregistered FPIs to disclose beneficial owners, they sold ₹904.19 crore in equities. Despite a decline in net foreign investment in August to ₹7,322 crore, experts believe the disclosure requirement will not harm India's long-term appeal to FPIs.
