Jayla M. Gidley, a 36-year-old woman from Tacoma, died in a car crash in Tumwater early Saturday. Her 2008 Jeep Compass left U.S. 101 on the ramp to southbound I-5, colliding with a light pole and a tree before coming to rest 100 feet down an embankment. The accident occurred just after midnight, and Gidley was pronounced dead at the scene. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
