George F. Leach, 85, died from injuries sustained in a head-on collision near Belle Fourche on U.S. Highway 212. A 16-year-old driving a 2019 Ford F350 crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding with Leach's 2014 GMC Sierra. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts; the Ford driver suffered minor injuries, while Leach was transported to a Rapid City hospital with life-threatening injuries. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
