University of Montana student-athletes approached for NIL endorsements of Senator Jon Tester.

The University of Montana is under scrutiny after student-athletes were approached by the political group Montana Together to create videos endorsing U.S. Senator Jon Tester through Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. Although the university permits such endorsements and no students reported accepting the offer, Tester’s office indicated they were unaware of these actions. NIL deals under $600 do not require reporting, contributing to the controversy.
