The United Nations General Assembly has established July 6 as "World Rural Development Day" to highlight the vital role of rural development in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The resolution encourages member states and organizations to promote activities supporting rural communities on this day. Additionally, a separate resolution was adopted to initiate annual "United Nations Games" and create a trust fund for the initiative.
