Joshua Adam Cotter, 31, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of PSNI officer Shane Whitla, who was shot in Lurgan, Northern Ireland, on January 12, 2023. Cotter also denied charges related to firearm possession with intent to endanger life. Authorities believe Whitla was lured to his death over an alleged drug debt linked to a crime gang called The Firm. A third suspect, Kevin Conway, was later killed in another incident, while Jake Joseph O'Brien's arraignment is pending.
