Illinois State University enrolls record 4,285 first-time students, a 3% increase amid state budget challenges and pandemic.

Illinois State University (ISU) has achieved its largest incoming class in history, welcoming 4,285 first-time college students this fall, a 3% increase. Total enrollment rose by 2.7% to 21,546. Nearly 45% of first-year students come from traditionally underrepresented groups. ISU attributes this success to a focus on student success, strong academics, and affordability, despite challenges from state budget issues and the pandemic.
