Balfour Beatty has secured a £27 million contract to build flood defences in Comrie, Scotland, aimed at protecting nearly 200 homes and businesses. The project involves constructing 2.8 km of river walls and embankments along local rivers to meet a "1 in 200 year flood" standard. Work is set to start soon, with a completion target of autumn 2026, and will create around 100 jobs, including apprenticeship opportunities.
