A 13-year-old girl from the Pittsburgh area, reported missing, was found in an adult jail after lying about her age during a shoplifting arrest on August 17. She falsely claimed to be 18, which led authorities to believe she was an adult. A jail staff member eventually recognized her as a missing person, resulting in her separation from adult inmates and transfer to juvenile court. Her parents were notified, and she was reunited with them.
