Willie Woodland, a 31-year-old man from Limerick, was charged in court with the illegal possession of a submachine gun and ammunition found at his home on September 3rd. The weapon is a 9x18mm Makarov calibre Rak make, model PM63. Woodland did not respond to the charges and has been remanded in custody. He will appear via video link on September 10 for further instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, with free legal aid provided.
