On September 5, 2024, Kenya's National Police Service Commission (NPSC) announced a salary increase for police officers. Entry-level constables' salaries rose from Sh21,645 to Sh25,645, while Senior Assistant Inspectors General's salaries increased from Sh200,899 to Sh221,915. Long-serving constables can earn up to Sh69,640. The NPSC also approved promotions for 1,957 officers and is considering additional promotions for others.
