Police Scotland has submitted findings from its investigation into the Scottish National Party's finances, known as Operation Branchform, to the Crown Office. This probe, ongoing since 2021, involves former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, former SNP treasurer Colin Beattie, and Sturgeon's husband, Peter Murrell, who was charged with embezzlement in April. Sturgeon and Beattie were arrested last year but released without charge. The Crown Office is reviewing the case.
