India's Coal Ministry has allocated three commercial coal mines—Machhakata, Kudanali Lubri, and Sakhigopal-B Kakurhi—to NLC India Ltd, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, and TANGEDCO. These mines will have a combined capacity of 30 million tonnes per annum and are projected to generate annual revenue of ₹2,991.20 crore, attract ₹4,500 crore in investments, and create around 40,560 jobs. The Ministry plans to auction over 50 more coal blocks this fiscal year.
