Assam govt introduces zero-premium insurance up to ₹1 crore for state employees.
The Assam government has introduced zero-premium insurance for state employees, providing coverage up to ₹1 crore. This includes ₹10 lakhs for life insurance, ₹1 crore for accidental death, ₹1 crore for total disability, and ₹80 lakhs for partial disability. The policy, announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, is in addition to existing employee benefits. Other cabinet decisions included a ₹200 crore power subsidy and plans for a new Taj Hotel in Jagiroad.
