Sybil Haydel Morial, a prominent civil rights activist and the widow of New Orleans' first Black mayor, Ernest "Dutch" Morial, has died at 91. She played a vital role in the civil rights movement, co-founding the Louisiana League of Good Government to aid Black voter registration. Morial was also an educator at Xavier University and the mother of former Mayor Marc Morial. Her legacy includes significant contributions to education and civil rights in New Orleans.
