62-year-old David Taylor charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a GMP detective during interview at HMP Frankland.

David Taylor, 62, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a Greater Manchester Police detective during an interview at HMP Frankland on July 23. He appeared via videolink at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court, where he did not enter a plea. The case has been transferred to Teesside Crown Court, scheduled for October 1, 2024. The injured officer has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home.
