Vanguard & NXP launch joint venture VSMC in Singapore with a $7.8B investment for a 300mm wafer facility, production expected by 2027.
Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation and NXP Semiconductors have launched a joint venture, VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (VSMC), in Singapore with a $7.8 billion investment. Construction of a 300mm wafer manufacturing facility will start in late 2024, with production expected by 2027. The facility will focus on mixed-signal and power management products, aiming for 55,000 wafers monthly by 2029 and creating around 1,500 jobs.
