Microsoft's transition to ARM-based Qualcomm chips for its Copilot+ PCs has resulted in significant gaming compatibility issues. Testing found that only half of 1,300 PC games ran smoothly on these devices, primarily due to performance overhead from the required emulation layer, Prism. As a result, Apple is capitalizing on this situation, enhancing its gaming appeal with Apple Silicon and the Apple Game Porting Toolkit, which supports older Intel games on its ARM-based systems.
