The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested six men, including an enforcement agency assistant director, for allegedly protecting smuggling operations involving livestock and subsidized goods in Tumpat, Kelantan. The suspects, aged 50 to 60, were apprehended during an operation on September 2 while at the MACC office. They are suspected of accepting bribes of RM5,000 to RM10,000 and have been remanded for five days for further investigation under the MACC Act 2009.
