The 2024 McIlvanney Prize shortlist for the best Scottish crime book includes Val McDermid, Chris Brookmyre, Abir Mukherjee, D V Bishop, and Kim Sherwood. The winner will be revealed during the Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival in Stirling later this month. Established in 2012 and named in honor of William McIlvanney in 2016, the prize celebrates exceptional crime writing linked to Scotland.
