On September 4, Assam Police intercepted five Bangladeshi nationals attempting to cross into India at the Karimganj district. The individuals were identified and expelled back to Bangladesh. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted that economic hardship in Bangladesh drives such migration attempts and emphasized heightened security measures along the India-Bangladesh border in response to recent unrest.
