Ricky Perkins, 32, has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for the dangerous driving death of 49-year-old Byron Jeanes. In January 2021, Perkins crashed into Jeanes at 89 mph on the A4063 Aberkenfig bypass while it was raining. Jeanes, wearing a high visibility jacket, was waiting for a ride. The court found Perkins' speed and the weather conditions to be significant factors in the fatal incident. He pleaded guilty in June 2023.
