Tesla plans to produce a six-seat version of its Model Y SUV in China, slated for late 2025, to enhance its appeal amid rising competition from domestic EV manufacturers. The company has instructed suppliers to prepare for increased production at its Shanghai factory. The Model Y is currently the best-selling vehicle in China, with over 207,800 units sold in the first half of 2024. A five-seat variant is set to launch in early 2025.
