Federal Liberal Party to oversee NSW Liberals due to local government election candidate nomination failure.
The Federal Liberal Party's executive will oversee the New South Wales (NSW) Liberals starting September 12, following the state division's failure to nominate candidates for local government elections. A report revealed the inability to nominate 140 candidates across 16 councils. A committee of management, including Alan Stockdale, Rob Stokes, and Richard Alston, will replace the state executive for 10 months. Former NSW state director Chris Stone has also been reappointed.
