China's Bohai Oilfield, the largest offshore crude oil production site, has reached a historic daily output of over 100,000 tonnes, as reported by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). Established in 1965, it contributed nearly 2.3 million tonnes to the national crude oil output increase in 2023, accounting for about 50% of the total growth. Despite geological challenges, it remains vital for China's energy security and economic development.
