Alkaff Lake, located in Singapore's Bidadari Park, functions as a biodiversity-friendly retention pond to prevent flash floods in the densely developed area. Engineered by PUB, it can hold 40,000 cubic meters of stormwater, equivalent to 16 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Officially opened on September 3, 2024, the park includes trails, a viewing deck, and is a habitat for migratory birds. The lake also incorporates enhanced infrastructure to address climate change impacts.
