Vernon Cooper, a 57-year-old man from Birmingham, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Chilton County, Alabama, on Sunday around 5:30 p.m. His 2010 Hyundai Elantra veered off the road, struck an embankment, and overturned. Cooper, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the incident.
