Wife of Conservative councillor pleads guilty to inciting racial hatred against asylum seekers in a social media post.
Lucy Connolly, wife of Conservative councillor Raymond Connolly, pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court for inciting racial hatred against asylum seekers in a social media post. Her message, made on the day of a deadly knife attack, called for mass deportation and burning hotels housing migrants. She is set to be sentenced on October 17, with the judge indicating a possible substantial prison term. Connolly has since resigned as a childminder and apologized for her remarks.
