Turkey's Botas secures 10-year LNG contracts with Shell and ExxonMobil for 2027.

Turkey's state energy company, Botas, has secured a 10-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) contract with Shell to supply about 4 billion cubic meters annually, starting in 2027. This deal aims to bolster Turkey's position as a natural gas hub and enhance Europe's energy security. Additionally, Botas has a similar 10-year agreement with ExxonMobil for up to 2.5 million tons of LNG per year. Turkey heavily relies on imported gas, with LNG accounting for 28.3% of its consumption.
